Synopsis

In the Atacama Desert, a girl and her father secretly exploit a gold mine until one day the father is injured and the girl has to take his place. She is forced to lead a group of miners who soon want to take the mine away from her.

In the middle of the Atacama Desert, Carola dreams of a house by the sea. She lives there with her father Pacifico. To survive, they work with a small group of miners to develop a small copper mine. What the miners don't know is that Carola and her father are hiding a treasure. The gold vein they secretly work on at night is supposed to enable them to steer their fate in a better direction. When one of the miners discovers their secret, he violently storms the gold mine. While trying to defend themselves, the intruder is killed, but Pacifico is also seriously injured. Although Carola and her father manage to hide the worker's body, Carola must take her father's place in the mine and face not only the hostility of the workers, but also her own lack of maturity in order to continue pursuing her long-awaited dream.
